DPAC continues to change the face of entertainment in the Triangle. Interns will have the opportunity to dive in head first and get a tangible experience of what goes into DPAC being consistently ranked as one of the top theaters in America.  

Internships at DPAC provide hands-on experience for college students interested in a career in working for live entertainment venues and presenters. Interns have the opportunity to work alongside DPAC staff and participate in valuable career experiences and special projects. As an intern with DPAC, you can get a taste of the management, event services, sales, ticketing, and marketing that are part of DPAC. Available Internship Opportunities

Audience and Event Services

The Audience & Event Services Intern will play a crucial role in the planning, development, and execution of DPAC events and their special operations. This internship offers a hybrid work arrangement with both remote and on-site responsibilities during the Fall 2024 term.

What you’ll do:

  • Weekly Communications:
  • Develp content and create weekly communications for the Audience & Event Services (AAES) team.
  • Deply these communications to keep the team informed and engaged.
  • Assist the Directr of Audience & Event Services in various special projects related to event planning and execution.
  • Coordinate meet-and-greet sessions, photo opportunities, and VIP activations for select talent or tours.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain an inventry of operations and event services supplies.
  • Ensure necessary materials are available for smooth event operations.
  • Collaborate with the Audience Services Manager and Volunteer Coordinator on Volunteer Programs.
  • Participate in planning event staff and vlunteer appreciation events.
  • Staff Recgnition and Rewards:
  • Assist in maintaining the staff recgnition and rewards program under the supervision of the Audience Services Manager.
  • Event Operations:
  • Oversee venue preparatin and work during events, including Broadway shows, concerts, comedy performances, and special events.
  • Recruitment and Training:
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training event staff and vlunteers.
  • Ensure a well-prepared team fr successful event execution.
  • Additional Tasks:
    • Be open to additional tasks and special projects based on performance and organizational needs.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university.
  • Based in the Raleigh-Durham area with reliable transportation.
  • Letter from school confirming eligibility for college credit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Must have a laptop or personal computer.
  • Availability to work 15-20 hours per week at DPAC, including occasional weekends and special events.

Marketing and Public Relations

Are you a creative and self-motivated individual with a passion for the entertainment industry? We’re seeking a Marketing / Public Relations Intern to join our team at DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center). As an intern, you’ll gain valuable experience, contribute to our PR strategy, and work on exciting projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Fully support the company’s PR strategy and execute it in different phases.
  • Create and curate engaging content.
  • Communicate and build relationships with current or prospective clients.
  • Assist with media relations, including organizing press drops.
  • Maintain DPAC’s presence on social networking websites and event calendars.
  • Participate in strategic planning and special events.
  • File and organize marketing materials.
  • Help promote DPAC events through internal and grassroots efforts.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university.
  • Based in the Raleigh-Durham area with reliable transportation.
  • Letter from school confirming eligibility for college credit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel).
  • Must have a laptop or personal computer.
  • Availability to work 10-15 hours per week at DPAC, including occasional weekends and special events.

Ticketing

Are you passionate about live entertainment and eager to learn the ins and outs of ticketing operations? Look no further! DPAC is seeking enthusiastic Box Office / President’s Club Interns to join our dynamic team. As a Box Office / President’s Club Intern, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth ticketing processes and enhancing the VIP experience for our President’s Club members. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Ticket Software Wizardry: Master our ticketing software like a pro! You’ll process ticket orders, prepare mail and will-call tickets, and handle complimentary ticket requests.
  • Showtime Organization: Dive into show files, maintain waitlists, and compile guest lists. Attention to detail is your superpower!
  • Data Dynamo: Create and manage data collection spreadsheets. Excel skills? Check!
  • Special Projects Extraordinaire: Collaborate with ticketing managers on exciting projects to elevate our guests’ experience.
  • President’s Club: Send invitations to non-members to enjoy the President’s Club during an event. Seamlessly add guest passes to members’ accounts, granting them VIP access to special gatherings and perks. Celebrate members’ birthdays with personalized cards, spreading joy and building lasting connections.
