The DPAC Ambassadors Go Way Down to Hadestown

Hello I’m Sabriya Andrews and I'm Kylee Cockerham, and on February 26th, 2022, I had the opportunity to see the musical Hadestown. Hadestown is a beautifully heart breaking musical, that follows the tragic love of Eurydice and Orpheus. We had so much fun with this show, so we wanted to get some of our fellow DPAC Ambassadors' opinions and thoughts on the show! 

It was clear the outstanding cast played a large part in the major success of this musical. Kevyn Morrow was a huge hit as his role of Hades with numerous ambassadors dubbing him their favorite part of the show, his voice being described as “satisfying” and “clean”. Levi Kreis, who plays the story’s narrator Hermes, was also beloved due to his fun and unique voice!

The Hadestown set was something that particularly stuck out to DPAC Ambassador Avery Patterson. The musicians were featured on the stage, a semicircular shape that surrounded revolving circles that contributed to the unique movement of the chorus. The set contracted in and out depending on the scene and truly characterized the settings. Avery particularly liked how the set was utilized in the “Wait for Me” sequence.
