Nashville Songwriters Blog

From the Heads of Carolina to the Tails of California these Country songwriters have performed their top of the chart songs. Last night in Durham, North CAROLINA, the Ambassadors had the privilege of seeing the Nashville Songwriters show at DPAC as well as experiencing special backstage access with the talented writers.
While backstage, we interviewed the writers about their songs and experiences. I had the opportunity to speak with Tim Nichols who came out with his first hit in the 1990s, "I'm over you," which reached the #3 on the Country Charts. He even won a Grammy for best country song in 2004, for "Live Like You were Dying." He explained how he gets inspiration for his songs from audiobooks. All of the songwriters were so nice and humble about their careers. They were generous enough to give all of the Ambassadors signed posters before the show.
We didn't have any before-show assignments so we mingled prior to the show colleting some content for our social media assignment. We were even allowed to sit in the president club with the other guests.
During this sold-out show, the writers told stories behind the songs they wrote. They played popular songs as well as newly-written pieces. The audience sang along to the music, laughed and had a good time and kept the bar staff very busy. The writers engaged with the audience, making everyone feel welcome and included.
Meeting such talented people, who love their jobs in the arts, was inspirational. Country music fans and aspiring song-writers alike enjoyed this one night show.
