Mean Girls Ambassador Blog

Opening night is exciting for any musical theatre production, and last Friday’s showing of Mean Girls was certainly no exception. After a brief walk to the DPAC, I headed up to the President’s Club lounge for our pre-show meeting and the entire room was buzzing with anticipation. As I sat with my fellow high school ambassadors, we chatted about our expectations and excitement for the performance until it was time to head to our posts.
Before the show began, I helped out a pair of volunteers, Brad and Katherine, in directing audience members to their seats and welcoming them to the venue. By the end of the night, I definitely knew my way around better than before! It was especially exciting to see everyone decked out in pink outfits and ready for the show. I was even able to grab a picture with a few groups!
Then, after the crowd entering began to dwindle, it was time to watch the show! I was excited to finally see a professional production of Mean Girls after seeing it from three different high schools over the past year.
I was able to enjoy Orchestra seats thanks to the generosity of DPAC and had a great view for all of the show’s amazing moments. It was so fun to see the hit movie once again translated to the stage with amazing musical numbers like Where do You Belong, Revenge Party, I’d Rather Be Me, and, of course, World Burn. I was impressed by the company’s sharp choreography and excellent humor throughout the entire performance. If you can still get them, I’d highly recommend buying tickets to come and see any of the remaining showings on Saturday and Sunday!
