Behind the Scenes with DPAC Marketing at Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: In Concert

On January 31st, I had the opportunity to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: In Concert. When I arrived at DPAC I was greeted by the kind, friendly staff members and attended the pre show meeting, where I was assigned to a task - marketing.

At DPAC, the marketing team has a wide variety of tasks such as leading photographers, taking pictures of the venue, and my favorite part, interacting with guests. The marketing team and I went behind the scenes at DPAC and sat in the marketing office. In the office, we discussed the show's policy on photography and what they expect of the team that night. The show was very family friendly and had lots of children in costumes attending the show. So, we decided to meet the Harry Potter fans and take pictures of them. I met a wide range of people, many of them dressed up as Harry Potter. I even met people who wore robes that had their house on it. After interacting with guests, it was time for the show!

The symphony, composed of many local instranmentlist, was absolutely phenomenal. One of my favorite parts of the show was hearing the crowd. Many people clapped for their favorite characters, and booed characters that they did not like. During intermission, I got a pretzel and walked around with other ambassadors to ask the guests questions for social media. After the show, I said goodbye to all of my fellow ambassadors and left. Though it was a rainy day, many Harry Potter fans were standing outside and socializing. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: In Concert offered incredible live performances, amazing costumes, and friendly guests.
