Friday at DPAC, I had the joy of seeing the world renowned Comic Jeff Arcuri. He — along with three hilarious openers — delivered an amazing show complete with laughter, drama, and uncrustables sandwiches. 

 

But, before any of that could happen, we had our pre show meeting. We got a full rundown from Claire, the House Manager, about the show, and got our volunteer and shadow assignments! I had the privilege of working with guest services, which was one of the few positions I still needed to check off my list. I got to man the desk, answering guest questions and having conversations with the excited audience. I learned about all of our offerings, such as audio and visual aid devices, coat and item checks, and even first aid. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and every single one of the guests I talked to was amazing. I could feel the energy radiating from the lobby, and I loved the opportunity to make so many people’s experiences just a little bit better.

 

After my shadowing shift, we took our seats in the box and settled in for the show. All three of the openers were hilarious, each bringing their own unique personality and humor to the sold out crowd. Jeff Arcuri himself was incredible. His ability to work a crowd into his set is unmatched, and he delivered the best comedy show I have ever seen. There was not a single dull moment, from playing with the projectors, to pranking an audience member, to giving away uncrustables sandwiches, Arcuri brought a unique vibe to DPAC, and he turned me into a huge fan of his in just his hour and a half set.

 

Overall, it was an amazing night, and I had so much fun. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to positively impact our guest’s experiences, and the talent onstage made it an unforgettable show.
