DPAC Ambassadors at Matteo Lane

By Harper

Stand up comedy shows are always fun, especially with some friends. This was my first ever stand up comedy show and I got to spend it with some of my amazing fellow ambassadors.

Matteo lane was nothing short of wonderful. I started my night by signing in as per usual and seeing my assigned shadowing job.I was overjoyed to be assigned ticketing, specifically will call. I had  not known much about the call prior to this so it was very nice to be around some DPAC workers like Joseph who really knew the way around that area. I learned so many things and saw so many first hand interactions about working will call.

I saw first hand the way they treat each and every DPAC customer with kindness, patience and respect. This job is definitely not an easy one and I saw that when they were searching the computer system looking for seats for various shows. I also learned they do give warnings for obstructed view seats and they are very upfront and honest with all DPAC comers so that they may have the best and most positive experience here at DPAC.

Lastly, once my time at will call came to an end I said goodbye to the friends I had made and went to work with for  a bit and I met up with my fellow ambassadors for some pre show concessions. As we all chatted about our various shadowing jobs and way the niatiled before we knew it, it was showtime! As i've mentioned i have never been to a standup show before this and I just couldn't wait to see what laughter tonight held. Matteo Lane opened with a comedian from New York with a beautiful jean jacket and matching blue jeans. Her style was impeccable.

Her name was Aminah Imani.I dont think ive ever laughed that genuine and that hard in a long time. I enjoyed every second of her being on stage and I was just waiting on the edge of my seat for the next joke to come and the one after that and so on. Before I knew it it was time for Matteo Lane to come on stage. I was amazed and dazzled at his comedic timing. I was almost upset that I hadn't discovered him sooner. Every single joke made me feel like he was speaking to me directly and he knew that it was gonna make me laugh till my ribs hurt.Connecting  Italy to Disney movies to his boyfriend, to flying commercial aircrafts I was stunned at how one person could be so creative. Soon the night came to an end it was time for matteo to leave the stage but not before thanking his incredible opener Aminah Imanai.

As guests left the theater I said goodbye to a night of fun and laughter and to my fellow DPAC ambassadors and as I left the building a feeling of gratefulness washed over me. I was grateful l got to see my first comedy show and it was matteo lane! I was grateful I got to see firsthand how much hard work, time and effort goes into will call, and I was grateful; to have a night full of fun and laughter with my fellow  ambassador friends.
