DPAC Tops National Theatre Rankings
As 2023 comes to a close, DPAC is again ranked among the top theaters in the country based on ticket revenues and attendance figures tracked by the largest three U.S. publications that cover live entertainment and live entertainment venues.
DPAC has been ranked among the top ten theaters in the U.S. for over a decade,
alongside some of the nation’s biggest and most iconic theaters, including The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
In VenuesNow annual rankings published December 11th, DPAC took top honors with a #1 ranking among U.S. theaters (based on attendance). This is the first time DPAC has achieved this top spot in the prestigious end-of-year rankings, having placed #2 in the VenuesNow rankings in 2018 and 2022.
Pollstar Magazine, which published their annual rankings on December 7th, ranks theaters in two separate charts, one for attendance and a second for ticket revenues. For 2023, Pollstar placed DPAC #3 in attendance and #4 in ticket revenues in its annual year-end rankings for U.S. theaters.
And in a third publication issued November 30th, Billboard Magazine ranked DPAC #4 in the U.S. (based on ticket revenues).
Operated under the direction of Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), 2023 marked the start of DPAC’s 15th season. Developed and owned by the City of Durham, DPAC has welcomed over six million guests to nearly 3,000 performances since opening in 2008.
“Our thanks to the fans and performers who come together to bring DPAC alive night-after-night,” said Bob Klaus, General Manager of DPAC. “Our goals have always been just this: great shows, good times, and the very best customer service among any theater in America. With these goals, we look forward to sharing the magic of live entertainment for years to come.”
